• Floral GTIN Implementation Guide - Companies that buy, sell, pack, and distribute floral products have reached a crossroads in the way they conduct business. After increasing consolidation and expansion, companies are now finding that they must rely on boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of their supply chains to help drive continued growth.
• PMA Overview: Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act - Formerly titled the Andean Trade Preferences Act, this preference program grants Andean flowers duty-free access to the U.S. On June 28, 2007, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate voted and approved an eight-month extension of the Act for Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.
• Floral Container Labeling - In an ongoing effort to ensure regulatory compliance with existing container labeling rules, PMA collaborated with the American Nursery & Landscape Association, the Society of American Florists, the North American Horticultural Supply Association, and OFA – an Association of Floriculture Professionals to publish an Industry Guide to Marketing Container Plants.
• Agricultural Labor and Immigration Reform - The passage of comprehensive immigration reform affects both the produce and floriculture industries. PMA has been active in the immigration reform debate by participating in the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform (which counts nursery and landscape trade amongst its supporters). PMA supports the Agricultural Job Opportunity, Benefits, and Security (AgJOBS) Act of 2007, S. 340 and H.R. 371.
• PMA Truck Transportation Practices for the Produce Industry - This report includes a number of best practices for suppliers and receivers that will help to position produce as a "load of choice." It also includes five case studies that illustrate the best practices in action. While focused on produce, the ideas contained in the report also apply to floral transporters.
